Leonardo Offers C-27J Through-Life Support to New Zealand

27 Mart 2019

Leonardo and Northrop Grumman Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 27 related to the C-27J Spartan transport aircraft. Under the MoU, the parties will make a joint bid in the incoming Future Air Mobility Capability (FAMC) Programme of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) in which they will offer the C-27J transport aircraft along with through-life support.

Northrop Grumman Australia is already providing logistic support for the Leonardo-made C-27J aircraft in the inventory of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).

Speaking about the MoU, Maurizio De Mitri, Marketing and Sales Director at Leonardo Aircraft, said: “With this partnership we want to make Australia our hub for the C-27J in the region to provide New Zealand with true excellence not only in terms of product, but also in terms of services, to ensure decades of efficient transport and relief operations. The successful experience of the RAAF fleet is a testament to our commitment and we are convinced that New Zealand would receive significant advantages by becoming the next Spartan Customer.”
