To meet its need for a land based long-range air defence system, Turkey plans to renew the efforts it previously conducted as part of the Turkish Long Range Air And Missile Defence System (T-LORAMIDS) Project, this time with a higher target for domestic contribution. The Undersecretariat for Defence Industries, which is the procurement authority in Turkey, places great emphasis on maximizing the ratio of domestic contribution. According to the information released to the public, efforts towards building a procurement model for the project, which will be undertaken in collaboration with a foreign solution partner, are still continuing. Recently, MEADS International (MI) has also joined the list of solution partners interested in helping Turkey meet such a critical need. Through its solutions that are game-changing in various respect, MI is preparing to bring a new dynamism to the procurement process.
