Prof. Dr. Sezai Elagöz Appointed as Microelectronics Guidance and Electro-Optics Business Sector CEO and Vice President of ASELSAN
The ASELSAN Board of Directors has announced that Prof. Dr. Sezai Elagöz is to be appointed as the Microelectronics Guidance and Electro-Optics Business Sector President and Vice President at ASELSAN. The company made the announcement on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on July 18.
Prof. Dr. Elagöz completed his undergraduate studies in the Ankara University Faculty of Science Department of Physics and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the Racham Graduate School of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Michigan with an MEGSB scholarship in 1993. He served as assistant professor, associate professor and professor in the Faculty of Science between 1993 and 2011, and, later worked at the Department of Nanotechnology Engineering that he founded within Cumhuriyet University.
He has also served as Dean of the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Technology, as the Director of the Institute of Science, the Department of Physics, the Department of Nanotechnology Engineering, as a board member of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Cumhuriyet University, as a member of the Board of various faculties, and as a member of the Board of University Senate. Besides being the founder of many postgraduate programmes, he was a member of University Ethics Committee and a director of the 100-2000 doctoral program, and is a member of the Turkey Nanotechnology Working Group.
As the founder of the Cumhuriyet University Nanophotonic Application and Research Centre (CÜNAM), the Cumhuriyet University Optical Research and Application Center and the Cumhuriyet University Advanced Technology Application and Research Center (CÜTAM), which operate in the advanced technology field, Prof. Dr. Elagöz has served as the head of board and as the head officer since the establishment of CÜNAM and as a board member of CÜTAM. He played an active role in the writing, execution and finalisation of the projects of the Ministry of Development targeting the establishment of these centres.
