The Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and ROKETSAN have signed a serial production contract for the Surface-to-Surface Guided Missile Procurement (ATMACA) project at a ceremony hosted at the SSB’s offices on November 2. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries, and officials from the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), ROKETSAN and ASELSAN.

The ATMACA missile was designed by ROKETSAN as part of a project aiming to meet a need of Naval Forces Command for an anti-ship cruise missile, while ASELSAN’s involvement was in the development of the missile’s fire control systems and other equipment.

The signed contract foresees ROKETSAN taking on the serial production of the missile, while ASELSAN will handle the production of the necessary hardware and auxiliary materials. Standing out as Turkey’s very first naval missile, the ATMACA will be integrated into the MİLGEM project’s İ-class frigates.
