SSB and State Supply Office Strike Agreement for National and Indigenous Cybersecurity Products

24 Ocak 2019

The Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and the State Supply Office (DMO) recently signed a cooperation protocol related to the field of cybersecurity. The signing ceremony was organised at the SSB’s main offices, and was attended by Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries; Mücahit Civriz, Deputy General Director of the State Supply Office; and representatives from both institutions. The SSB made the development public with a press release issued on November 7.

The signed protocol foresees collaboration between companies based in Turkey’s Cybersecurity Cluster – which was established under the auspices of the SSB – and public institutions, with the goal of having the products of these companies enter the Technical Catalogue of the DMO. The overarching goal of the protocol is to have the cybersecurity software and intelligence technologies used in public institutions and organisation gain a national and indigenous infrastructure. The protocol also aims to elaborate new strategies to prioritize national and indigenous products during public procurements.
