As a company that offers a broad range of services in the field of aviation, such as design, certification and consultancy, STM was visited on October 4 by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to discuss areas with potential for collaboration.

The visiting delegation included Bahri Kesici, Acting Director General of Civil Aviation, and Can Erel, Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation, who met with Murat İkinci, General Manager of STM, in his office. During the meeting, which was attended also by STM managers and experts, various discussions were held regarding STM’s means and capabilities in aviation safety and security that could be adopted in civil aviation.

One other subject covered during the meeting was STM’s possible contribution to an academic programme on aviation safety being considered by the DGCA, to be offered at a university level. The meeting also addressed the topic of products and services to be rolled out in the field of civil aviation, based on the approach that they should first be marketed domestically before being placed on the international market.

The meeting ended with consensus on the need to sign a protocol for the designated areas of cooperation.

STM already holds a Design Organisation Approval certificate, issued by the DGCA and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA),  which allows the company to carry out overhaul and improvement works on the cockpit and passenger compartments of CS-23 and CS-25 category commercial aircraft, and also to integrate additional systems into these sections.
