TCG ALEMDAR Makes the Sea Depths Safer

Constructed by Istanbul Shipyard as the prime contractor within the scope of the Submarine Rescue Mother Ship (MOSHIP) Project, conducted by the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) to meet the need of Turkish Naval Forces Command (TNFC), the ALEMDAR was commissioned with a ceremony held in Istanbul on January 28. The contract regarding MOSHIP project, which covers the construction of a single ship that is capable of carrying out underwater missions such as rescuing the crew of a damaged submarine, towing broken down, wrecked ships and underwater repair works and wreck removal, was signed between SSM and Istanbul Shipyard on October 28, 2011.
